Instructions
Once you have enrolled in the webinar course, you will need to request your unique password and Registration ID required to join the live session.

- A new web page will open where you need to enter your name and email address
- You will then receive a confirmation email with joining instructions. You will need this to log in to the webinar
- To join the webinar, follow the instructions provided in the confirmation email
At the bottom of your email is a link that adds the webinar event to your calendar program (e.g. Microsoft Outlook). This will then automatically prompt you to join the session on the day (a reminder will also be sent via email 24 hours prior to the event)
To join the webinar you will need:
- Windows PC/Apple Macintosh* and broadband connection (a wired connection rather than wireless connection is recommended)
- Basic computer skills
- Loudspeakers or a headset (recommended) to listen
The following are recommended to make the most of the session but not neccesary
- Webcam (*not supported on the Mac)
- A microphone or headset
- Glass of wine (or preferred alternative) and nibbles!
- Click the link in your confirmation email
- The session web page will open and your details will be entered automatically
- Click "Join now"
- Follow the prompts and run the audio setup wizard to check your sound settings (you must accept the invitation to join the "VoIP session" to hear the audio)
- You will then join the conference "room" and be greeted by the host
- We run a test session 48 hours before the event to make sure that your computer is configured correctly and to give you a quick guide to the webinar process. This should take no longer than 15 minutes.
- We also open the webinar session an hour early on the day of the event so that you can login early. A freephone number is available for any technical difficulties once the event has started.
- Please login at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the webinar following the confirmation email instructions
- If this is your first time we highly recommend joining the test session (see above) to make sure that your computer is configured correctly
- If you require technical assistance call 0800 358 1236 and have your joining instructions to hand

About the Presenter
Dr J Makdissi better known as Jimmy qualified in 1993 with DDS and completed a postgraduate diploma in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 1995. He completed his Master of Medical Sciences degree (MMedSc) in Oral Surgery in 1996 from Queen's University in Belfast.
He then worked as a Senior House Officer in Leeds, Belfast and Cork. During this time, he obtained his Fellowship of Dental Surgery (FDSRCS) from the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1999.
Jimmy joined Guy's Hospital in 2000 as a specialist registrar in Dental and Maxillofacial Radiology where he spent 4 years after which he obtained his Diploma of Dental Radiology from the Royal College of Radiologists (DDR RCR) and was awarded his certificate of completion of specialist training (CCST) in 2004.
Subsequently, he joined Queen Mary School of Medicine and Dentistry and Barts and the London NHS Trust where he has been working as Senior Lecturer/Consultant in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology.
Jimmy delivers a number of lectures, seminars and practical classes to undergraduate BDS students, contributes to the design of the In Course Assessment and writes exam questions. He supervises Selective Study Modules for undergraduate MBBS students, delivers didactic and clinical teaching to postgraduate students in many disciplines, senior house officers and medical and dental Specialist Registrars. He also teaches on the fellowship and membership programmes in the Royal College of Surgeons and on the MSc in implantology at Warwick University. He also teaches on the new MJDF course at the Royal College of Surgeons.
He served on the education committee of the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology which published its report on undergraduate education in Dental and Maxillofacial Radiology in the Journal of DentoMaxillofacial Radiology.
He has been an invited speaker on number of national conferences (British Dental Association, British Association of Oral Surgery and British Association of Dental Therapists) and international conferences (Australia: The Royal Melbourne Hospital, Pakistan: Asia Pacific Dental Congress and Hungary: International Association of Head and Neck Radiology).
He publishes in many scientific journals and a list of his publications is available on the PubMed website.
