Bringing the experts to you...

The Dental Channel's live webinar (a "web seminar") service brings leading dental experts direct to you. Think of it like attending a lecture but without the need to travel or lose time away from work. From aesthetics to periodontics, business development to marketing, our live webinars provide expert information that keeps you on top of changes in the dental field including the General Dental Council's core recommended subjects.

Some of the benefits include:

  • Participation in live online training with leading experts
  • Learning, discussion and interaction with other like-minded professionals from all over the UK and abroad
  • No travelling or time lost from professional commitments
  • Live instruction has never been this convenient or enjoyable!

Webinars normally take place on the first wednesday of the month and run between 20:00 and 21:45.

Who are they for?

We have webinar programmes for various dental care professionals including a monthly webinar service for dentists, a monthly webinar service for nurses and inidividual webinars which cover training topics for Dental Technicians.

Other DCPs (e.g. Hygienists, Therapists and Practice Managers) will find some of our webinar courses suitable for their own development and are always welcome to get involved. Subjects of particular interest include Core Recommended subjects and business development subjects.

What GDPs say about live webinars

"A great way to gain CPD experience"
"Keep it up. I am a convert - I will definitely be participating in more "webinars"
"More like a tutorial than a lecture"
"Excellent way to communicate not only with the presenter but also with other dentists. Both informative and an enjoyable
way to learn"

dreamstime_2548021_flip.pngViewing a webinar...

...is like viewing a video on youtube, but its live. All you need is a computer with a broadband connection and basic computer skills and you are ready to go!

Webinars are unique in their interactivity. Whilst viewing you can communicate with other participants, pose questions to the presenter and give feedback on the course using icons and a chat window.

If you have a webcam you can also get virtually involved. Being visible gives you and other participants the feeling that you are present in the lecture theatre.

At the end of the webinar a question and answer session allows discussion with the presenter and other
viewers. This is a great way to further your knowledge on important dental subjects.

What is the cost?

The normal webinar cost is £55 but bookings made more than seven days in advance of the webinar are £45.

Dental Channel annual subscribers receive a £10 discount on webinar prices.

We also provide a Webinar bundle with our annual subscription. Click here for more details.

Prices include VAT and are tax-deductible expenses.

{tab=Verifiable CPD}

Verifiable CPD

Certificate exampleEach webinar provides dental professionals with 2 hours of verifiable CPD (meeting all GDC requirements).

We provide clear learning aims, objectives and outcomes so that participants know exactly how each webinar will help to develop and improve their own CPD.

Participants are also provided with the ability to evaluate our courses and to provide feedback or suggestions about them. This also helps us to improve the quality of our services.

Once viewers have completed the webinar and the evaluation a certificate is provided which is available to save or to print out as evidence of involvement on the course.

Questions

Click on the questions below to read the answers.

{slide=I've never done a webinar; how does it work?}

A webinar is an online seminar that you watch via your PC from the comfort of your home or office. You watch the presentation, listen to the speaker, and interact with other viewers. Unlike conventional seminars, our webinars provide an informal atmosphere and the added benefit of private chat, comments and questions.

{/slide}

{slide=I've never done a webinar; can I get involved?}

As long as you have basic computer skills and a reliable broadband connection you will be able to get involved. We run a test session 48 hours before the event to make sure that your computer is configured correctly and to give you a quick guide to the webinar process. It should take no more than 15 minutes and we are sure you will be impressed!

We also open the webinar session an hour early on the day of the event so that you can login early. A freephone number is available for any technical difficulties once the event has started.

{/slide}

{slide=Can I submit questions before the event?}

Yes, you can submit questions to the presenter anytime before or during the webinar by email or by using the chat window. Questions will be addressed during the question and answer session.

{slide=What is the best web browser to use for the webinar?}

The Dental-Channel system is compatible with the major web browsers. For best results we recommend the most recent versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox.

We also recommend that you use the most up to date versions of these web browsers. You can download them here:
