It is aimed at dental practice teams, in particular dental nurses.  The purpose is to provide informative and engaging CPD delivered live and on-demand to dental professionals at their practice.  Time is therefore not lost away from the practice or out of working hours.  We know from feedback that the events provide a source of discussion for the team after the live events that can then be followed up with the on-demand webinars and discussion forums.

Requirements

Your practice will require:

• A broadband connection
• PC or Apple Macintosh
• Loudspeakers
• Large screen or other suitable projector display
• A named contact who will act as the practice coordinator and with whom we shall liaise regarding the service. If contact details change (e.g. email address) we must be notified.

Participants

• The practice coordinator must provide the names of up to ten staff members who will be using the service
• We shall create an account for each member and provide a username and password to access the service
• When a staff member leaves we must be notified accordingly.  That member will be given the option to cease access to the service or take out a new subscription.

Live webinars

The named contact will be sent an email with joining instructions, normally 48 hours before the live event, together with a reminder.  If the email has not been received the contact must contact us so that instructions may be resent.

After the event participants login to complete the short evaluation within 48 hours.  A certificate will be made available to download shortly afterwards.  Certification is only available to members who attend the live event.

On-demand webinars

On publication (normally within 7-10 days after the live event) members will be given access to the on-demand recording a forum.  Completion of the course is valid for additional verifiable CPD.

As long as you have basic computer skills and a reliable broadband connection you will be able to get involved. We run a test session 48 hours before the event to make sure that your computer is configured correctly and to give you a quick guide to the webinar process. It should take no more than 15 minutes and we are sure you will be impressed!

We also open the webinar session an hour early on the day of the event so that you can login early and a freephone number is available for support.

• Participate in the live events (1 hour verifiable CPD each)
• Complete the on-demand webinars ((1 hour verifiable CPD each)
• View and post questions in the forums (general CPD - your time is indicated)

You will need to complete the on-demand webinar, normally published  7-10 days later.

Yes, you can submit questions to the presenter any time before or during the webinar by email or by using the chat window. Questions will be addressed during the question and answer session.

The topics are mainly clinical, but with some business and personal development too.  Please consult the programme for the core recommended subjects.

A recording of the live event will be available to review for 7 days after the event.  The on-demand version is normally published 7-10 days after the live event and provides additional CPD

The Dental-Channel system is compatible with the major web browsers. For best results we recommend the most recent versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox (having both is a good idea).

You will receive confirmation from us and then joining instructions by email approximately 1 week prior to the live event.  You will also be enrolled automatically in the on-demand webinars which will appear under 'My CPD'.
