About the Presenter
Janet joined the dental nurse training course at King's in 1970, and following qualification took the National examination in November 1971.
Janet spent many years working as a trained/qualified Dental Nurse and Orthodontics was the first deptartment that she was in charge of. She then spent more time in other areas such as Periodontology, Prosthetics and Oral Surgery, where she worked alongside oral surgeons in main theatres, as well as the routine clinical work of extractions, biopsy's and implants etc.
In 1986 Janet successfully completed the City & Guilds Further Education Teachers Certificate, achieving a credit award. Since enjoying the teaching aspect of her role and the contact it provides with Dental Nurses who are working towards gaining their own qualification and making Dental Nursing their professional career choice.
Alongside her teaching role at King's, she is also involved in the CPD courses for both internal and external Dental Nurses which are organised and run at the Dental Institute.
Janet is a qualified City & Guilds Assessor & an Internal Verifier for the NVQ course, and has been the local organiser for the National examination for the past 20 years.

A webinar is an online seminar that you watch via your PC from the comfort of your home or office. You watch the presentation, listen to the speaker, and interact with other viewers. As long as you have basic computer skills and a reliable broadband connection you will be fine. We run a test session 48 hours before the event which makes sure that your computer is configured correctly and give you a quick guide to the webinar process. It should take no more than 15 minutes and we are sure you will be impressed! We also open the webinar session an hour early on the day of the event so that you can login early. A freephone number is available for any technical difficulties once the event has started.
Yes, you can submit questions to the presenter anytime before or during the webinar by email or by using the chat window. Questions will be addressed during the question and answer session.
- Windows PC/Apple Macintosh* and broadband connection (a wired connection rather than wireless connection is recommended)
- Basic computer skills
Whilst not necessary the following are recommended to make the most of the session
