- Discuss the progression of periodontal disease from gingivitis to periodontitis
Learning Outcome
By the end of the session participants will be familiar with the causes and prevention of periodontal diseases as related to general dental practice.
About the Presenter
Jillian Eastmond is CPD Training Manager for the Dental Nurse Education & Training Centre at Guys, King’s & St Thomas' Hospitals. She qualified as a dental nurse at Manchester Dental Hospital in 1994 and has worked in both private & NHS practices as well as dental hospitals. She worked as a specialist dental nurse in the Department of Restorative Dentistry at Guy's Dental Hospital and was a head & neck cancer care coordinator for the Trust.
Jillian has a Further and Adult Education Teaching Certificate, a certificate in Dental Radiography as well as being an assessor for the NVQ III Oral Health Care Dental Nursing qualification. She has recently achieved a management qualification, and is a National and Oral Health Education examiner for the National Examining Board for Dental Nurses.
She is committed to improving quality and standards for dental nurses and is keen to develop a range of learning opportunities including distance learning packages. She is an experienced teacher and delivers lectures from National Certificate training to dental undergraduates and MScs.

A webinar is an online seminar that you watch via your PC from the comfort of your home or office. You watch the presentation, listen to the speaker, and interact with other viewers. Unlike conventional seminars, our webinars provide an informal atmosphere and the added benefit of private chat, comments and questions.
As long as you have basic computer skills and a reliable broadband connection you will be fine. We run a test session 48 hours before the event which makes sure that your computer is configured correctly and give you a quick guide to the webinar process. It should take no more than 15 minutes and we are sure you will be impressed! We also open the webinar session an hour early on the day of the event so that you can login early. A freephone number is available for any technical difficulties once the event has started.
Yes, you can submit questions to the presenter anytime before or during the webinar by email or by using the chat window. Questions will be addressed during the question and answer session.
