By the end of this session participants will have a much better grasp of the use of partial dentures and will be more confident when implementing them in practice.
About the Presenter
Professor Walmsley is Professor of Restorative Dentistry at the School of Dentistry at the University of Birmingham.
He is head of the teaching unit of Prosthetic Dentistry and Higher Degrees Tutor. His interest in all things IT is at the cutting edge of teaching and learning in dentistry. He has published extensively in both the Scientific and popular Literature in the above areas. Elearning is one of his passions, and he was part of the team that won the Times Higher Education Supplement (THES) Outstanding ICT Initiative of the Year, sponsored by the Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC).
Positions of responsibility include the Peer Review Council of the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council, Executive Board Member of the Association of Dental Education in Europe and Subject Specialist Advisor in Dentistry to the Higher Education Academy.
He is Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Dentistry and on the Editorial board of the British Dental Journal, European Journal of Dental Education and Brazilian Dental Journal. Published Books include Editor of “Restorative Dentistry” and joint Editor with Prof Y. Maeda (Osaka) of “Implant Dentistry with new generation magnetic attachments”.
Ultrasonics in Dentistry has become his major research area at Birmingham where he runs a successful research team which is funded by the major UK research councils and Dental Industry.
Clinical interests include a speciality interest in Restorative Dentistry with an emphasis on Removable Prosthodontics. He specialises in provision of precision retained overdentures using implants and natural tooth roots.
Hobbies include Sci-Fi, running, photography, playing the guitar and Manchester City.

A webinar is an online seminar that you watch via your PC from the comfort of your home or office. You watch the presentation, listen to the speaker, and interact with other viewers. Unlike conventional seminars, our webinars provide an informal atmosphere and the added benefit of private chat, comments and questions.
As long as you have basic computer skills and a reliable broadband connection you will be fine. We run a test session 48 hours before the event which makes sure that your computer is configured correctly and give you a quick guide to the webinar process. It should take no more than 15 minutes and we are sure you will be impressed! We also open the webinar session an hour early on the day of the event so that you can login early. A freephone number is available for any technical difficulties once the event has started.
Yes, you can submit questions to the presenter anytime before or during the webinar by email or by using the chat window. Questions will be addressed during the question and answer session.
