Welcome

Evening Live Webinar Programme dreamstime_2548021_flip.png

  • Use your broadband connection to participate in live postgraduate education
  • Informal, relaxed and convenient
  • Wide range of topics including clinical, business development and the GDC core recommended subjects
  • Lively question and answers session: interact with other like-minded professionals from across the UK and abroad
  • No travelling or time lost from professional commitments
  • 2 hours verifiable CPD

Format

The format is similar to a lecture, with a presentation followed by a question and answer session.  However webinars offer some additional facilities that are not available in traditional lectures.  For example questions can be submitted privately, ideal for those who have questions but are normally reluctant to do so in front of an audience.

What subjects and for whom?

The topics are mainly clinical, but with some business and personal development too.  We include the core recommended subjects.

The monthly evening sessions primarily aimed at dentists, though many are also relevant to other members of the team (for example the core recommended subjects and business development).

Click on the tab "2008 programme" for the schedule.

What time?

The start time is usually 8pm, closing at approximately 9:30-9:45pm (2 hours verifiable CPD).

Go Green!

All our courses are delivered via your broadband connection, and you even download your certificate. Live education does not come much more environmentally friendly than this.

What GDPs say about live webinars

elearning Awards 2008 logo"A great way to gain CPD experience"
"Keep it up. I am a convert - I will definitely be participating in more "webinars"
"More like a tutorial than a lecture"
"Excellent way to communicate not only with the presenter but also with other dentists.
Both an informative and an enjoyable way to learn"

Our live webinar service has been shortlisted for the elearning Awards 2008

How does it work?

Viewing a webinar...

...is like viewing a video on Youtube, but it's live. All you need is a computer with a broadband connection and basic computer skills, and you are ready to go!

Webinars are unique in their interactivity. Whilst viewing you can communicate with other participants, pose questions to the presenter and give feedback on the course using icons and a chat window.

If you have a webcam you can also get virtually involved. Being visible gives you and other participants the feeling that you are present in the lecture theatre.

At the end of the webinar a question and answer session allows discussion with the presenter and other
viewers. This is a great way to further your knowledge on important dental subjects.

What is the cost?

A lot less than going to a course!  Please refer to the respective schedules for pricing details.  Our annual subscription offers provide particularly good value.

Prices include VAT and are tax-deductible expenses.

Verifiable CPD

Verifiable CPD

Certificate exampleWebinars meet the GDC requirements for verifiable CPD:

  • Clear learning aims, objectives and outcomes so that participants know exactly how each webinar will help to develop and improve their own CPD
  • An evaluation is completed after the event so participants are able to comment on the experience and help us to improve the quality of our services.
  • A certifcate is available to download on completion of the evaluation.

A webinar is an online seminar that you watch via your PC from the comfort of your home or office. You watch the presentation, listen to the speaker, and interact with other viewers. Unlike conventional seminars, our webinars provide an informal atmosphere and the added benefit of private chat, comments and questions.

As long as you have basic computer skills and a reliable broadband connection you will be able to get involved. We run a test session 48 hours before the event to make sure that your computer is configured correctly and to give you a quick guide to the webinar process. It should take no more than 15 minutes and we are sure you will be impressed!

We also open the webinar session an hour early on the day of the event so that you can login early. A freephone number is available for any technical difficulties once the event has started.

Yes, you can submit questions to the presenter anytime before or during the webinar by email or by using the chat window. Questions will be addressed during the question and answer session.

The Dental-Channel system is compatible with the major web browsers. For best results we recommend the most recent versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox.

We also recommend that you use the most up to date versions of these web browsers. You can download them here:
