Imagine attending a lecture but from the convenience of your internet connection. Then add the ability to interact with the presenter and participants, listen to and join in discussions, go back and revisit the event, and you will begin to understand the value of webinars for professional development.

'More like a tutorial than a lecture'

This is a remark we often get from participants (there are more below). 'Webinar' is a contraction of 'web' and 'seminar', which is an apt description.

Whilst it is perhaps easiest to picture a webinar as an online lecture, there are some important differences. The best way to find out just what a webinar can offer is to experience one.  We have been running them regularly since 2006 and are confident that once you have participated you'll won't look back.

Events for teams and individuals

We organise two regular programmes that provide a monthly live webinar throughout the year (except August).

Team Training

Gather your team together at work at the end of the day for a concise interactive presentation and discussion, valid for 1 hour of (mostly core) verifiable CPD.

We even provide refreshments, courtesy of The Dental Directory (yes real refreshments for a virtual meeting). Order the food and drink and you will be given a £20 credit with The Dental Directory on your practice account.

It is probably the most convenient and engaging way to help ensure that your team stay up to date, know that their professional development is central to the practice, and meet their mandatory CPD requirements.

Evening Expert

If you value the opportunity to listen to experts and learn along with other like-minded professionals (who may of course hold quite different views) from the convenience of your internet connection (we have had participants joining in from the train!) this is for you. These events are intended primarily for individuals but not exclusively.

What's involved?

You need a reliable computer (Windows/Apple Macintosh) and internet connection. That's all. If you are not a computer whizz that's fine. We will provide all the help you need.

If you have a microphone and webcam you will be able to speak during the sessions if you wish. We recommend them but there are not obligatory.

For team events you will need a suitable screen and loudspeakers for all to see and listen comfortably.
