Introduction
Our primary goal is to provide authoritative and engaging training that helps dental professionals keep up to date and deliver excellence in patient care. Established by a dentist in 1998, we hope that our track record, unique in this field, speaks for itself.
Our service is based upon formal quality-assured courses for continuing professional development (verifiable CPD), complemented by a community that offers informal learning and professional networking.
Membership
Registering your account is free. Once registered you can use the community and start to build your network. You may also enrol in any free CPD courses currently available. Our fee-based courses can be enrolled in individually or as part of a monthly or annual subscription plan.
Continuing professional development (CPD)
Live and on-demand
We pioneered the use of interactive e-learning in dentistry. Our first titles were produced on behalf of the Department of Health and published on CD-ROM. These were then complemented by live online training (webinars), which we have been delivering monthly since 2006.
Our Evening Expert live webinar programme provides the opportunity to join in interactive training delivered by experts from the convenience of your desktop, laptop, tablet or mobile. Our on-demand courses, primarily derived from the live events, provide a wealth of expert training available 24/7/365.
Topics cover clinical, business, personal and the GDC Highly Recommended and Recommended subjects (‘core’ CPD). All are valid for verifiable CPD.
Our dynamic CPD certification is unique. The time spent completing courses and further participation is recorded accurately as required by the GDC.
Personal development planning and CPD activity recording
Effective CPD requires planning and reflection. We have developed a template for Microsoft Excel that help professionals construct a personal (professional) development plan, record their CPD activities and then reflect on them. Further CPD activities can then be planned, the PDP updated and impact on patient care assessed. The template is free to registered members and Excel is available free both online and on mobile devices, so nobody is excluded.
Join the community of continuous students
Our service, whether you use the community, CPD courses or both, will complement your other professional development activities. You will be able to learn with and from others, and share your own experiences and advice. We recommend viewing the Quick Start Guide for a quick tour to get up and running in no time.
We look forward to welcoming you.
